How our safes are tested
When you buy a graded safe from NeedASafe, you can sleep well at night knowing it has undergone stringent independent testing for utmost security and strength.
This is how it works ...
1. The drawing board
When we design a new safe, the drawings are presented to the LPCB - that’s the Loss Prevention Certification Board, a third-party approvals body which is dedicated to approving fire, security, construction and environmental products and services all over the world.
Once our designs get the go-ahead, we present specimen test safes to the LPCB.
2. The fun part
And then comes the fun part of safe manufacturing: trying to break in. You can
watch this happening on our video.
If the independent testers and the LPCB are fully satisfied that the new safe meets with its required insurance rating, an announcement is made in the
Red Book Live - the website for products and services approved by the LPCB* and its parent organisation BRE Global - and only then can we go into production.
